Susan Stoll – Artist Spotlight

Please introduce yourself and your art medium.
I am Susan Stoll and I am a photographer. My work focuses on nature imagery—botanical portraits, wildlife and water reflections.

What is the most challenging aspect of being an artist?
I find keeping up with the business end of things such as website management and marketing to be challenging. The creative side of being an artist is easy to devote my time to.

What do you hope viewers take away from your artwork?
My work is an invitation to breathe, to look a little closer, and to experience the serenity that nature so generously offers. I hope my images give viewers a feeling of peace.

Are you an early bird or a night owl?
I prefer an early start to my day.

What role does experimentation play in your creative process?
Experimentation is an integral part of the creative process. Camera settings, angles, lighting, and exploration all offer endless possibilities.

If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning something new, what would it be?
I would love to learn the art of batik.
