Doug Parks – Artist Spotlight

Please introduce yourself and your art medium.
Hey, Doug Parks here, and my artwork is fine art photography!

What is the most challenging aspect of being an artist?
Tripods have been set down everywhere, and everyone carries a camera in their phone.  But there is a huge difference between a picture that documents and an image that is art.

What do you hope viewers take away from your artwork?
I want the viewers to be immersed in what I felt at the time of capturing the image.  I always hope that it resonates with them.

Are you an early bird or a night owl?
As a landscape photographer you are both an early bird and a night owl since the great light is usually at the beginning and end of the day.

What role does experimentation play in your creative process?
A ton, especially in post processing to get the image back to what I saw and felt.

If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning something new, what would it be?
I would love to learn the art of sailing since I did work at a marina as a young ma
