Hi there, my name is David Roseberry and I’m a gourd modeler and fine art gourd artist
What is the most challenging aspect of being an artist?
It has been a challenge just to repay expenses, but I remain steadfast against all adversity.
What do you hope viewers take away from your artwork?
I hope the viewer can see that money was never a motivating factor in the creation process.
Are you an early bird or a night owl?
I’m usually awake by 5:30 am.
What role does experimentation play in your creative process?
Gourd modeling is completely experimental. Every cut allows for two possible outcomes, either inside out or outside out. And then there’s how to attach?
If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning something new, what would it be?
Since I am a completely self-taught, artist painting classes. I really admire minimalist techniques.
