I’m Stacey Lamothe and I am a jewelry artist.
What is the most challenging aspect of being an artist?
Selling little pieces of my heart.
What do you hope viewers take away from your artwork?
Each piece tells a story. This story is often different from person to person. My jewelry is frequently considered a talisman or keep sake that brings comfort, love or connection. All my work is infused with joy and humor, and it is a pleasure sharing it in the world.
Are you an early bird or a night owl?
Early for sure! I love the sacred calm of early morning dawning while the coffee brews 🙂
What role does experimentation play in your creative process?
Some of my favorite pieces started out with a totally different plan. I’m not really good at drawing so I often “doodle” with my saw.
If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning something new, what would it be?
Geology or anthropology.
