Gini Crepps – Artist Spotlight

Please introduce yourself and your art medium.
I am Gini Crepps, alcohol ink and mixed media artist.

What is the most challenging aspect of being an artist?
The most challenging part of being an artist, for me, is constantly challenging myself to explore new processes and not become complacent or settling into a comfortable space.

What do you hope viewers take away from your artwork?
The most impactful interactions with people who see my art have been overwhelming emotional responses. There have been tears, instant connections, stories told, hugs, and gratitude. What could be better than that? It’s what keeps me on my creative path.

Are you an early bird or a night owl?
Neither – I like working in the mornings and early afternoons – or really, whenever I get a chance to get into my studio.

What role does experimentation play in your creative process?
I love exploring new processes! It challenges me and pushes me out of my comfort zone!

If you could take a week off from your regular life to immerse yourself in learning something new, what would it be?
I would love to take an intensive workshop to explore new directions, processes, and ideas. That would excite me! I am always looking for that opportunity!
