Pam Kinzie

The joy of working with ceramics came to Penn Valley resident Pam Kinzie later in life, following retirement from a career in architecture and construction management.
With a great affinity for nature, working with earth (clay), fire, color, and pattern was a natural fit. All of Pam’s work is hand-built. She considers her work a dance between herself and the clay, intertwining her manipulations with the response and natural behaviors of the clay. She often pushes the clay to reveal its fluidity and vulnerableness. Pam is seeking a balance; stillness and movement equally reflected in each hand-made vessel.

Pam holds a BS-Design from University of Nebraska, a Masters in Architecture from SCI-Arc, a Masters in Real Estate Development from MIT, and trained in ceramics at Sierra College. She serves on the Board of Artists of the Oaks. Her ceramic work has been shown at the Granucci Gallery, Blue Line Arts, Art League of Lincoln, Courtyard Suites Gallery, California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Arts, and Sierra College Student Art Shows, where it has won several awards.
