Congrats to Sandy Lindblad, Merit Award

Auburn Old Town Gallery artist, Sandy Lindblad won a merit award for “The Collaboration” at the Sierra Pastel Society Annual Membership show at the Sacramento Fine Arts Center!  This pastel painting may still be available at the gallery, as well as prints and cards with this image.  Come to the gallery and see more of Sandy’s wonderful animal protraits!

Sandy Delehanty Featured in Sacramento Zoo Fundraiser

Our own Sandy Delehanty was invited to show three pieces in a fund ra iser for the Sacramento Zoo at Archival Art Gallery in Sacramento, 3223 Folsom Blvd. The show is up until the end of the March and the proceeds go to the zoo.  Here is one of her pieces titled “HOT LIPS”.  Prints and cards with this image are available at our Auburn Old Town Gallery.  If you can’t make it to the show, stop in and check out Sandy’s wonderful artwork!HOT LIPS sized for web

Flora and Fauna is theme for April!

The Auburn Old Town Gallery is featuring artwork representing Flora and Fauna in April.  There will be a reception during the ArtWalk on April 7 from 6-9.   Ann Ranlett will be demonstrating Scratch board, Jaime Baxter will be demonstrating batik style Ukranian Eggs, Sonja Hamilton will be painting flowers in watercolors, and Sandy Lindblad will demonstrate acrylic painting of animals. how they create their artwork during the reception.  Eah Herren will be performing harp and vocals, combining the musical styes of jazz, classical, and global-folk-fusion!   This show is a must see for nature lovers and will definitely get you ready for Spring!

Ann Ranlett, International Scratchboard Award

Congratulations to our own Ann Ranlett! “Safety”, Ann’s scratchboard drawing of a greyhound, received a Silver Award (2nd Place) in the Masters’ division at the 6th annual International Society of Scratchboard Artists’ Exhibition currently being held in Adelaide, South Australia. The drawing has also sold and will remain in Australia. You can see more of Ann’s exceptional artwork in our gallery!

Photo session for Auburn Old Town Gallery Fashion show on Friday, October 7 at 6 pm

Auburn Old Town Gallery members staged an early morning fashion photo shoot in Old Town Auburn.

“We wanted to capture the morning indirect light, plus it gets really busy in Old Town around 9 am,” explained Auburn photographer Maria Soto-Bigelow, “It was safer this way!”

The photo shoot featured artwork by gallery members Ardith Gray (felted, collaged and dyed wearables), Keith and Merridee Smith (felted, batik, painted and dyed garments), Rebecca Martinez (polymer clay jewelry) and Jennifer Lile (leather accessories and handbags).

Local beauties Cheyenne Noel Owens and Annaleigh Hess of Auburn and Robin Rice of Meadow Vista modeled the pieces.

Don’t miss the full fashion show, to be held during the October Auburn Artwalk on Friday, October 7 at 6 pm.

The Friday evening show and reception will also feature music by Gia McNutt and John Potter, along with delightful snacks.

“Confluence of Style” – Art Walk Reception and Month-long Show

Our artists team up to create new artworks for the October Auburn Art Walk.

In late Summer of each year, several artists from the Gallery pool their talents to create a unique new collaborative artwork with a fellow gallery member. Then, in October, the gallery presents, “Confluence of Style”, an annual month-long themed show that features the collaborative artworks. A reception for these artist teams will be held during Auburn’s Art Walk, on Thursday, October 8, from 6 to 9 pm

Creative teams include: Sonja Hamilton & Lorelee Love, Barbara Hoffmann & Susan Stoll, Ann Ranlett & Jerry Berry, Christina Salazar & Darlene Becker, John Johnson & Stacey Lamothe, Lisa Bone & Diane Tharp, Rebecca Martinez & Jennifer Lile.

The Confluence of Style show runs through October 31st.
