Our September show is “Mud Wrestling” as our clay and ceramic artists dive in and create some spectacular art.
The artists’ reception is Friday, September 2nd, from 6-9 pm. Enjoy refreshments and music by Gary Bennett, who will sing and play acoustic guitar.

Photo session for Auburn Old Town Gallery Fashion show on Friday, October 7 at 6 pm
Auburn Old Town Gallery members staged an early morning fashion photo shoot in Old Town Auburn.
“We wanted to capture the morning indirect light, plus it gets really busy in Old Town around 9 am,” explained Auburn photographer Maria Soto-Bigelow, “It was safer this way!”
The photo shoot featured artwork by gallery members Ardith Gray (felted, collaged and dyed wearables), Keith and Merridee Smith (felted, batik, painted and dyed garments), Rebecca Martinez (polymer clay jewelry) and Jennifer Lile (leather accessories and handbags).
Local beauties Cheyenne Noel Owens and Annaleigh Hess of Auburn and Robin Rice of Meadow Vista modeled the pieces.
Don’t miss the full fashion show, to be held during the October Auburn Artwalk on Friday, October 7 at 6 pm.
The Friday evening show and reception will also feature music by Gia McNutt and John Potter, along with delightful snacks.

Our artists team up to create new artworks for the October Auburn Art Walk.
In late Summer of each year, several artists from the Gallery pool their talents to create a unique new collaborative artwork with a fellow gallery member. Then, in October, the gallery presents, “Confluence of Style”, an annual month-long themed show that features the collaborative artworks. A reception for these artist teams will be held during Auburn’s Art Walk, on Thursday, October 8, from 6 to 9 pm
Creative teams include: Sonja Hamilton & Lorelee Love, Barbara Hoffmann & Susan Stoll, Ann Ranlett & Jerry Berry, Christina Salazar & Darlene Becker, John Johnson & Stacey Lamothe, Lisa Bone & Diane Tharp, Rebecca Martinez & Jennifer Lile.
The Confluence of Style show runs through October 31st.
Auburn Old Town Gallery marks its 20th year in business with an Anniversary Celebration beginning September 13th. Join us on the 13th from 1 – 5 pm for festivities that include artists demonstrations, refreshments, cake, face painting for the kids, and an hourly drawing for gallery gift certificates. Customers will also be treated to 20% off their purchases during a special sale that runs from Sunday, September 13 through Sunday, September 20.
Our beloved gallery first opened its doors in 1995. With just a handful of local artists then, the gallery has expanded to include nearly 60 regional artists in all media, including painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, jewelry, glass, wood and textiles. Nestled in Auburn’s quaint Historic Old Town, on a typical day, the gallery welcomes its loyal local customers as well as travelers from all over California and the globe.
Demonstrations by Sonja Hamilton (watercolor), Ann Ranlett (scratchboard), Sandy Lindblad (pastel), and Patty Pieropan Dong (oil).
Larry Brenden, John F. Johnson & Ann Ranlett will have work in this year’s juried Fine Art Exhibition at the California State Fair.
The Fair and Art Exhibition runs July 10th – 26th.
Ann will also demo scratchboard at the Fair (in the Fine Art Exhibit hall) during Fair hours on July 22 – 24. See her event listing for details.
